I first learned of Fred Phelps and his "interesting" little church when his flock of a few came to protest the marriage of County Clerk Steve Weir to his longtime partner. This is the same group who protest at soldiers' funerals claiming they will go to hell.
Well done Britain. Now the British just have to work on removing some of their other religious influences, CLICK HERE FOR THAT video, and the country may regain some of its former glory.
Or not!

Phelps and his group are not mere intolerant homophobes. He's a disbarred lawyer (with a history of dismantling Jim Crow laws).
There is speculation that his protests are a means of drawing fire against him so that he can sue for infringement of his free speech rights.
Here's a bit about him.

He represents everything that is wrong with America. The right to do something does not make it right.
If only the US could ban him from here as well! So sad to see anyone spewing such hatred and flat out stupidity.
There comes a point when aggression is applied to support hate that it transfers to a form more properly called evil.
Agreed. And there comes a point where the right of free speech should fall into a classification that makes hate speech and tactics that his group takes in the name of religion - illegal. Too much freedom is as dangerous as too much power.
