Of course, I believe that those people who survived that super epidemic developed an immunity to that variant of flu, so it is unlikely to return and kill like it did. On the other hand, the flu virus has more faces than most politicians - it will be another variant that will "get us!" Or is it the big asteroid? An alien attack? Or World War III? Or the giant super volcano under Yellowstone? Or an Ice Age? Or.... maybe it will just be crossing the street and getting hit by the bus. Or perhaps we'll catch our "death" from the common cold.
However we end, just remember the old saying... "Make sure you have clean underwear on before going outside!" You just never know.
