Scientists at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University have proposed a sweeping new theory of autism that suggests that the brains of people with autism are structurally normal but 'dysregulated', meaning symptoms of the disorder might be reversible. If the brain is a complex electrical generator that was misfiring sort of to speak, so that sectors were supercharged then the approach may be to sort of create a dampening effect. I heard this theory some where, maybe a TV special.
It is a scary scary condition and as a Grandparent it was always one of the things that I feared for my family.
