In this case, last year during the California Symphony's Performance at the Plaza in Concord, I met a young man, then thirteen years old, whose voice soared far above his years. I knew then that he had a good future ahead of him. His name is Charlie Baggett and he is now fourteen and on the verge of releasing his first CD. You can see the list of venues that he has played at the end of this posting. I wrote about Charlie in both the Clayton Pioneer (Oct 24 2008 - p23) and The Concordian (Nov 2008 - p25), totally impressed with the range of his voice and power he controlled. In addition he is a very nice and a very interesting young man who I have no doubt will have a very bright future. I also have the pleasure of having one of my photographs of him on the cover of his CD and Website. If you think I am exaggerating about the singing, click the play button below for an excerpt from his soon to be released CD (June '09). Then read on... |
| Did you want to hear more? Click HERE to hear the whole song and more at Charlie's Website... And yes, he does fly an airplane out of Concord airport, although not usually in performance wear! So if you don't yet know the face, and you don't yet know the voice, watch out! I expect that you will be hearing a lot more of him very soon. I'll keep you updated as more songs are released. Watch for a review of his CD in the June issue of The Concordian - MisterWriter California Symphony (Guest Artist), Todos Santos Park |
