ok, so like in denny's things.. does that mean if i make 2 eggs, sausage, bacon and hotcakes it will be over 2000 sodium grams too? Or do they just ADD salt to that stuff? Why would they do that? What makes it so high in sodium?
Mister spare us the junk science. The latest studies tend to debunk much that was thought about sodium. Take 30 seconds to do an internet search. "The Great Salt Myth" is just that.
The problem with the foods listed is not JUST the salt. Most of those foods are full of fats and proteins of types and in amounts that the human body was just not constructed to process and "burn" efficiently.
This is why Americans have such high rates of atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, obesity, and immune disorders.
This is why so many Americans are fat and sick. Diet programs, diet drugs, gyms, exercise programs and gastric bypass surgeries are multi-million dollar businesses. Doctors prescribe drugs to combat the results of our bad eating habits: blood pressure meds, insulin, statins, and more. Pharmaceutical companies are always researching more drugs to help Americans battle the diseases brought on by our eating habits and our lack of exercise.
In countries where people still eat simpler diets without all of these highly-processed, high-fat, high-sodium foods, many of these diseases are rare.
