There is something serene about being a duck in a pond on a lazy summer afternoon as you drift past a weeping willow on your way to the other side of the bank where the rest of your feathered family is basking in the sun. Sometimes you just need to stop and hear the ducks quack. The rest of life's problems can wait.

Cute. I'm thinking about weekend ideas to do with my toddler. Maybe a pond to feed the ducks...though many places post signs, no feeding ducks. Hope I don't get arrested! :)
The feeding of ducks is troublesome at parks for a couple reasons. One, people give them too much and it makes the water dirty. Two, they don't eat bread, its not good for them. If you want to feed them go to feed store and ask what they like i.e. cracked corn I've seen some people feed. But if they eat too much bread and other junk people feed them, they don't eat the other food they need i.e. fish, bugs, etc. So, that's the reason I think they say that. :)
oops, I should've said - they WILL eat bread, but they shouldn't eat bread :) They will eat anything (but really shouldn't). Here's an article:
